He Holds a First Degree Black Belt
One fact you might not know about Austin is that he’s passionate about martial arts. He has frequently put this training to good use and currently holds a second degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and a first degree black belt in Judo. That’s right--the first Red Ranger himself actually knows how to kick some butt in real life. How cool is that?
He Spent Almost Two Decades as a Paramedic
ASJ is well known for playing a hero on television--and becoming a hero to kids all over the world as one of the original 5 Power Rangers. Did you know that he’s a hero in daily life as well? For 16 years, Austin served in the Fire Department as a paramedic, meeting people when they needed help the most. He also provided four years of service in the Middle East as a medic.
